A bit about

CD (DTI)

I’ve been there. Newly pregnant, trying to navigate the birth world and figure out how I wanted to welcome my baby. Through this experience, not only was my sweet son born, but my passion for doula work was born as well.

I’m Jenna Stingley, and I’d love to walk this road with you. I’m a native Austinite, passionate about this city and the amazingly diverse community that makes it such a wonderful place to live and raise a family. With a love for health and wellness, non-toxic and intentional living, connecting with God, and exploring new spots with family, this city just feels made for me.

Before jumping into the birthworker sphere, I worked in full time ministry. This took me all over the world, from Portugal to Russia and many places in between. For a time my husband and I lived and worked in Moscow. It was there I learned that I was pregnant (It’s a pretty crazy story… remind me to tell it to you sometime)! This time cultivated a deep respect of people from all different walks of life, languages, and cultures. I love how purposefully diverse God created us to be! I believe my doula work is an extension of this: honoring every person for who they are, and offering support along their own unique journey.

My own experience of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum included a lot of twists and turns that were unplanned, and the unmedicated birth-center birth I planned for ended in a caesarean. During my marathon labor, I ended up experiencing pretty much everything you can imagine. It has allowed me to be able to empathize with all types of birthing experiences, and I came out of it emboldened to support others through this very intense, special, sacred life experience. I also have a particular passion for supporting those pursuing a VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean).

I am a certified birth and postpartum doula through Doula Trainings International (DTI), and have been supporting families in the Austin area for about three years. It has been an honor to support dozens and dozens of families, all unique in their goals and desires! No two births are the same — and yet they are all equally beautiful! Whether you plan to have your baby at home, a birth center, or the hospital, I am well versed in supporting families in every setting and would be honored to support you. Medicated or unmedicated. Spontaneous labor, induction, scheduled C-section… what is important is that you are in the driver’s seat of your birth experience, and that you have the support you deserve. Let’s see how I can uniquely support you and your family!
